Flashback to the time I accidentally submitted an MLP birthday fic I wrote for a friend instead of my resume.

I didn't get the job.

#resume #work #hiring #employment #email #mlp

@notthatdelta i would actually pass away from embarrasment
@chirpbirb I can laugh about it now but I was *mortified* when it happened!
@notthatdelta Its could works good if a mlp fan had see it xD
@fennek That would have been the best hiring story EVER!
@notthatdelta
Apparently it wasn't safe for work.

@Takiro I see what you did there!

(it was actually pretty mild, but geniuses are rarely appreciated in their time).

@notthatdelta
I wouldn't mind a steamy MLP story in my inbox instead of whatever garbage I usually get at work.
@notthatdelta I mean they told you to keep checking their hiring board, so maybe they just felt you needed to develop a bit as an author.
@srol well they could have at least given me some feedback then!
@notthatdelta how the fuck

@curiousluciano IIRC it was a case of "most recent PDF, didn't look at title, just added and hit submit"

Not one of my finer moments

@notthatdelta "ah sure, that's the resume"

submits mlpfanfiction.pdf
@curiousluciano knowing me, it was probably *submits New Document (14).pdf*, but yeah lol
@notthatdelta okay this is hilarious but also, may i ask, what is a birthday fic? birthday is a new genre to me

@shroomie Oh I phrased that kind of weird, it was a fic I wrote for a friend as a birthday gift.

The fic itself was just like a slice of life thing with their favorite canon characters and OC, if I remember right.

@notthatdelta That is an an amazing response in formal tone though!
@LightTheUnicorn the veneer of professionalism never dropped once! I'll bet they were laughing like mad though.
@notthatdelta Their loss.

@flesh Think of how easily they could have pivoted from "whatever tech thing they were doing" to "publishing MLP fan fiction"!

They could have been ahead of the curve...

@notthatdelta I was mortified when I submitted a cover letter with the date from the day before (I'm still recovering from working a 21 hour Tuesday), so thank you very much for the balm to my soul.

@Thatonepersonwithaface Rest assured that no matter how poorly you're doing something, someone somewhere is doing it *way worse*.

Glad I could help!
