Russia to refer women who don't want children to psychologists to address dwindling birth rate

The recommendations were approved in late February but only picked up by state media this week.

@LiamGilmartin When a child is unwanted for whatever reason, that child does not have a good life with those parents; Women being bullied, intimidated or ‘persuaded’ to have children has no good outcome for those women or those children.
@HarriettMB @LiamGilmartin agreed, but the state doesn't care about that child's feelings towards their parents, just their future as a taxpayer
@HarriettMB @LiamGilmartin I am such a child. My mother wasn't ready for children and doesn't have the disposition for it. She would have been happier had she aborted me and like my brother later who was a wanted child, the child that would have been me would have been loved instead 'ruining her life' and being the cause of her dropping out of school and weight gain while reminding her of the man who left her with a bastard child.
Growing up as an unwanted bastard sucks from every direction.

@LiamGilmartin

the psychologists will eventually see that there is no upside to having children

but that will be suppressed

i didn't have children

best decision i ever made

@samiamsam @LiamGilmartin

I have two and neither of them will ever have children and I totally understand

@LiamGilmartin so then they can take those children to die in a war? grim indeed.
@LiamGilmartin maybe Russia should send Putin to a psychologist to see why he sees no problem with continuing to fight in a stalemate with Ukraine, where he’s sent over a million of his people into a slaughter.
@LiamGilmartin VPOUS JayDee Vance has equated childless women to "crazy cat ladies'

@LiamGilmartin

since womb transplants have become a viable thing, the solution is simple - just transplant the wombs from women who don't want children into the men who want women to have children. Sure, it will involve c-sections for every birth but it could very well solve the birthrate problem that some are complaining about.

@maya_b @LiamGilmartin

I dunno, for a lot of those dudes, maybe the babies can just do the whole xenomorph thing and solve two problems at once.

A research scientist becomes the world's first pregnant man in order to test a drug he and a colleague have designed for expectant women. To carry out the trial, he has an embryo implant, believing that he will only carry the baby for three months – hardly expecting to face the prospect of giving birth.
