Just a friendly reminder that 50 years of "trickle down" has turned millionaires into billionaires, and billionaires into trillionaires.
Meanwhile the minimum wage stayed stagnant and prices skyrocketed on everything from gas to groceries to homes.

You wouldn’t believe how often I unexpectedly find cancer, or syphilis, or other conditions you may not want big tech to immediately be privy to. Meta isn’t subject to medical privacy laws. The Trump administration is dismantling a $386 million network of more than 900 ocean sensors funded by the National Science Foundation. An expert told The Associated Press Tuesday that it’s a crippling loss of information. The Ocean Observatories Initiative has collected real-time ocean data for a decade and informed more than 500 scientific publications. It was intended to run for another 15 to 20 years. Instruments will be pulled from waters off Oregon, Washington, Alaska, North Carolina and south of Greenland. Scientists warn it’s a particularly precarious moment. A marine heat wave is already building off California and experts predict an El Nino event this summer.
In case anyone feels Luigi Mangione’s actions could never be justified:
He took one life. He took a life from a man whose career was dedicated to letting people die.
For months afterwards, insurers in the US reversed care denials, approved care, and played nice. There is no doubt in my mind that lives were saved by this change.
On balance, I’m not sure what is “right” here, but it is clear Luigi Mangioni saved some lives. Should it take an assassination to effect change in this system? No.

Juvenile Red-headed Woodpecker lacking the characteristic coloration. Male and female adults are monomorphic - they are indistinguishable in the woods. Juveniles will retain this drab coloration for a year or more before developing the characteristic coloration.
As a side note: Started having problems with Darktable yesterday when it stopped recognizing DNG files that i had formerly been able to work with. Not sure what I done. That will slow me down until the brain cell kicks on to figure that out.
