May I suggest to go even further where no browser has been and add an option to automatically open Reader View when entering UI auto-hide?
@DerEntspannende That's achievable! You just need to go to Settings > Quick Commands > Command chains and create a new chains with two actions. The first one should be "toggle UI Auto-hide" and the second one "toggle reader view". Give it a name and then go to Keyboard Shortcuts and create a custom shortcut for the chain.
Use that shortcut and you'll trigger both UI-Auto hide and reader view at the same time.
Last time I tried the mail feature and connected it to my locally hosted (literally localhost) IMAP, it apparently tried to download/index/parse every last one of the many hundreds of thousamds of my stored e-mails, instead of just getting IMAP folders and message headers. I seem to recall I had to `kill -9` it to regain control of the system. Might this have changed recently?
When you add a mail account to Vivaldi Mail it'll download a month worth of messages, but you can adjust it from Settings > Mail accounts > select account > Identity > Sync Options.
@ilpalazzo Same for me: in fact, it seems that I have to show the panel first before I can show it in AH mode (including full screen mode with AH on), for F4 to work in these modes.
Another annoying behavior: if I enable AH, panel bar (usually hidden in normal mode) is on when I switch back to normal mode. It should stay hidden (and the latest active panel still on, ready to be shown again with the panel bar).
But I understand that it is the first public release, and I guess that it will be fixed in the next versions (7.10? 8?).
@Vivaldi Love the new update! The UI auto hide is a game changer. Less is more! Love how this browser not only outdoes itself, but its developers LISTEN to the masses with suggestions, etc.

@Vivaldi the auto hide feature will be a big help on my laptop, where screen real estate is at a premium.
I decided to try your mail program again, and I can't even get my old Hotmail account to have the OAuth window to pop up. Guess I'm going to stick with Thunderbird.
If you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled for the account, you need to use an app specific password instead of OAuth to log in, but if that's not the case, please describe in more detail what happens, when you try to add your Hotmail account to Vivaldi Mail?
If you see any error message, what do they say?
I don't currently have 2FA setup.
When I try logging in with OAuth, it sits for several minutes, trying to connect and I finally get a message that says "Login for smtp-mail.outlook.com failed. [object Object]"
When I use the password option, it sits for several minutes, trying to connect and I finally get the message that says "Login for outlook.office365.com failed. LOGIN failed."
So I setup 2FA, used the app specific password that Outlook.com gave me, and... same error message.
Never downgrade. It will break even more things.

@Vivaldi congrats on this release, great progress. Sadly, this update seems to have broken PWAs on macOS, as reported on your forum as well (I could not post there, as my messages get blocked by Akismet):
@Vivaldi This release is the sweetest thing I've received from you since that time you mailed me candy (technically that was still Opera back then, but...)
Only a few minor issues. I have menu position set to "horizontal" instead of "vivaldi button", which now creates a menu bar for which autohiding can't be disabled when it's on for any other elements. I actually want that to auto hide, but it should be configurable :) .
I also need to click twice on tabs and the (un)maximize button when autohiding is disabled for the tab bar but not other elements.
