Ontario premier says electric vehicle mandates putting jobs at risk, urges Quebec, B.C. to scrap policies

Premier Doug Ford is calling on the premiers of both Quebec and British Columbia to end all electric vehicle mandates, arguing that the policies are β€œthreatening the livelihoods of tens of thousands of Canadian workers.”

Foreign built EV's are only a threat to Canadian manufacturers because of our governments (multiple levels) failure to actually enforce the mandates they enact.

Companies know that if they simply ignore the mandate and wait till the eve of it coming into effect, they can plead that it will threaten jobs (because their delays have made it impossible to fulfil the mandate) and politicians will rush to remove the mandate, thus allowing companies to continue on with the status quo.
