Most people don't realise that sheep can be sociable with people, just like a cat or a dog. Here we were sitting at the edge of the field and Dom came and lay down next to us, chewing his cud, just content to be in our company on this lovely day.

Note also the *extremely* fashionable state of Giles' jeans. Balenciaga could sell those for a thousand quid.

@llamasoft_ox I HAVE SEEN JEANS like mine in Regent Street in LONDON in a shop window for 300 pounds !!! Mine ? "Authentic Llamasoft sheep-ripped trousers ?" MINIMUM 1000 pounds !! 😎
@llamasoft_ox When I was a kid, we used to camp in Wales in fields of sheep. They were always very friendly and seemed to enjoy any attention they could get. I must admit, at the time, I did not think about the fact that they might think I had some compatible discs in my pocket.

growing up in a Welsh village my brother and I witnessed two lambs being thought by the mother how to cross the cattle grid into the refuse tip. i consisted of running head on to the grid and at the last moment turning side on and reaching the other end with a roll.
@llamasoft_ox we have a sheep that needed to be hand reared. She thinks she *is* people. She's always up for a wander around the paddock with us. Also need to be careful when she's up near the house as she firmly believes she is an inside sheep.
@llamasoft_ox Especially the bottle fed lambs- we're family 💕

@llamasoft_ox I think this has to do with the fact that most people do not have the opportunity to actually connect with sheep and observe them. Also there are breeds that are more or less interested in people...
It is so interesting how they interact and communicate. Teach their lambs or take other lambs with them on "playdates".

My sheep follow me better than our dogs...

@sibylle Yes, most people's experience of sheep is just seeing them run away in a field if they get close to them. That's one of the reasons we enjoy doing our daily Sheep Time videos, it allows people to see how sheep can be affectionate and full of character if treasted as companion animals instead of "livestock". 🐏🥰

Our cuvilization is much the poorer for our reduced contact with large (-ish) animals.

Yes there were costs. And bad stuff.
But there were so many benefits.
