SydneyJimI met with fellow Sydney #Naturist @DavidM581 today & we discussed at length the situation of #Naturism & #Naturist clubs in #Australia & the failings of the Australian Naturist Federation. It was an eye opening discussion to say the least. I’m astounded at how poorly the ANF is representing #Naturism in #Australia.

David@terry_dactil @SydneyJim Hi Terry, with respect, I do not believe anything is to be gained by publicly discussing any perceived failings of the ANF. The ANF is our only Federal body which seek to represent all Aussie Naturist. I will only therefore offer my support and any positive suggestion to aid them in their very challenging and frankly insurmountable task to promote the rights and freedoms of the Australian naturist community.
@DavidM581 @terry_dactil Agreed mate. Rather than criticism in public forums, it is more constructive to offer support & thoughtful, positive suggestions that may help strengthen its efforts.
Best to try and offer the ANF suggestions for improvement and greater effectiveness. It is the only federal body we have ATM. In their present format the ANF have little hope of effecting any real change to advance the naturism cause given the present laws and the Australian ethos - nudity means sex/ perversion.
@DavidM581 I think there’s value in continuing to support & engage with the ANF, especially as it’s currently the only federal body representing #naturism in #Australia. At the same time, I’m not sure it’s entirely accurate to say that #Australian culture universally equates #nudity with perversion. While that perception certainly exists in some areas, there are also many examples of quiet #acceptance & #respectful practice. Public understanding tends to evolve gradually, often through consistent, positive exposure rather than rapid change. (2/3)

Perhaps the most constructive path forward is a combination of both? supporting national advocacy efforts while also continuing to demonstrate, through our own conduct & repeated social media posts, that #naturism is grounded in #respect, normality, & a genuine connection with the #natural #environment. Over time, that balance can help shift perceptions in a meaningful way. (3/3)

In my opinion the ANF needs a total overall and to enter the public arena as a professionally qualified political body focussing on public education and challenging the present law to distinguish between natural nudity and indecent/ criminal behaviour.
@DavidM581 Perhaps the ANF would do better if it were to support this draft officially, on national TV & radio, to raise awareness of not only naturism but the ANF itself?

Its purpose is to improve legal clarity, protect individual freedoms, & ensure respectful coexistence in public spaces while preserving public order & safeguarding against harmful conduct.

Also note, historically the ANF have no control what the media will ultimately broadcast. Many a promotion and interview was either never aired or edited to alter the ANF’s desired message. Many times the host made light of the intended message generally mocking the concept of public nudity. But yes sometimes the ANF gets lucky with a positive interview!
