Bill has a girlfriend!

So, that new handsome guy who was first out front and then out back now seems to be gone. But yesterday the little female who had been under the back stairs took his place on the back wall. This morning, Bill was nowhere to be seen out front, but I saw him and the little female together on the back wall.

Gave them both a bunch of mealworms. Bill was being a shitty boyfriend though and kept grabbing the mealworms, so I had to distract him with one hand while feeding his little lady friend with the other. She reminds me of Harriet.

It's so funny to anthropomorphize lizards, but I find the boys extremely handsome and the girls absolutely adorably cute. Like, if this girl lizard were a human I would swoon.

Here is Bill and girlfriend together. If she stays around, I'll have to figure out what her name is. I hope they decide to come back to the front yard, cause it's kind of annoying to go back there to feed them. I liked it better when they would come up to the porch on their own.

A side note for the #LizardReport is that I saw the first desert iguana in a yard several houses down, so it means it's hot enough for them to start waking up. Hopefully my big buddy, the one on my shoulder in my profile photo, will show up soon and remember me.

Someone figured out that I'm warm, as well as having an endless source of mealworms. Bill is nowhere to be seen today but she was back at her space under the stairs out back and was either hungry or maybe just decided that I was ok.

I just call her cutie for now but I will have to figure out her name.

Went back out a little while ago and Bill is also now under the stairs with her. He came over and ate a bunch, then went back to doing his pushups (territorial demonstration) and looking like a big tough guy.

It's hot enough that now two zebra-tailed lizards showed up next door at the abandoned place. The one I was feeding may or may not have been the same one from last year, but it wouldn't quite take worms from my hand. They were always the most skittish anyway.

I expect the iguana any day now. Hoping the whiptails show up. They're so adorable and friendly.

Oh boy, big lizard drama?

Went out back and Bill was hanging out in the shadow by the house but cutie, the female, was back up on the block wall with the other big lizard from a couple days ago.

Ahem. I think I probably missed a big territorial chest puffing contest out there earlier.

I feel a little bad for Bill, cuz he's been here for years, but maybe he'll come back to his spot up front and find a new lady friend who is wandering up the street looking for a new home.

Just for fun earlier, I put the phone camera into selfie mode, held it horizontally, resting on the ground, and held a mealworm right in front of it. Bill grabbed the worm, but didn't seem to notice himself. I might try a small mirror tomorrow. (IATA?)
