In piazza verrà allestito un finto seggio elettorale per ribadire l’importanza del messaggio, tanto più rilevante a pochi giorni dal referendum sulla giustizia che rischia però “di escludere dall’esercizio del diritto fondamentale al voto ancora una volta milioni di cittadine e cittadini”, come sottolineano i promotori in una nota. Ricordando come l’Italia sia l’unico Paese europeo, insieme a Cipro e Malta, a non prevedere il voto a distanza per chi vive lontano dalla propria città di residenza.

Il tema del voto dei fuori sede viene rilanciato anche dalla segretaria del Pd, Elly Schlein, che cita la ragazza che ha “protestato davanti al ministero della Giustizia perché le è stato negato il diritto di voto”. “Un voto – prosegue Schlein – sottratto a 5 milioni di persone che hanno potuto votare, ad esempio, alle ultime Europee, ma stavolta non si capisce perché questo Governo abbia deciso che non si poteva fare”. Intanto la protesta degli studenti è proseguita anche ieri, con un presidio a piazza Monte Citorio con tanto di cartelli per chiedere l’approvazione di una legge per permettere ai fuori sede di votare.
