Got IMAX tickets for Project Hail Mary this weekend.
Now, what the hell were they thinking when they made that trailer that basically spoils SO MUCH about the story?
Protip: do NOT watch the trailer and go as blind as possible, seriously. I hate the trailer. I'm glad I managed to read the book earlier this year

Fun Fact: IMAX is not only Canadian but from Toronto, the first one built in Ontario Place (RIP <3)

@renata I saw the trailer and cut myself off from anything else (that's what I normally do these days). Trailers are too long these days - they seem to keep getting longer and longer.

A good trailer is a minute long, tops.

@renata I'm taking my 15 year old daughter with me who hasn't seen the trailer, so at least one of us will go in not having had the story spoiled.
@renata is this like the trend of YouTube videos showing the punchline of the video first, then starting from the beginning to show the whole thing? Because I really hate that.
@natecox Not really but it shows a lot of key epic moments that you really shouldn’t be seeing because it defeats the purpose of the storytelling
@renata I hate the trend of YouTube trailers that have a mini-trailer before it to make sure they catch people who can’t watch anything longer than 5 seconds
