Exhibitionism is NOT #Naturism.

In psychology & law, exhibitionism refers to exposing one’s #body or #genitals to others for sexual arousal without their consent. It is classified in psychiatry as Exhibitionistic Disorder. The defining issue is not simply being seen. It is the sexual intent combined with lack of consent from the viewer. That is why it is widely treated as harmful behaviour. (1/2)

#Naturism is fundamentally different. #Naturism is #SocialNudity practiced in settings where everyone present understands & accepts it, such as designated beaches or clubs. The aim is #BodyAcceptance, #Equality, relaxation, & connection with #nature. The key principle is mutual consent of participants. #Naturists are not exposing themselves to shock, provoke, or arouse strangers. (2/2)
