Ghost of Gallipoli: US warships cannot control the Strait of Hormuz | The Strategist
Why do you assume there is a strategy? If there had been one we wouldn’t be at this point. It’s really sad to think that’s what it boils down to, but it is just:
It’s all about bullying others and pretending that whatever happens was the plan all along. Except now nothing happens and we are all just waiting for the bully to get bored and go play with his new ballroom.
Why do you assume there is a strategy?
They’re evil - but they’re not so evil they don’t have a plan. Even if it’s a bad plan, it’s still a plan, and while the main characters here are in fact idiots, there’s some very smart people manipulating them. I don’t know if their strategy will work, but they’re still going to try for it.
You way over estimate the actors.
Anyone with any sense would have kicked Trump tp the curb in 2015 before the convention. No one who has ever spent any time with him has ever said anything except that he’s an idiot.
The 0.01% now have to deal with the consequences of putting the stupidest person in the world in charge of the biggest military in the world.
They are:
There is no plan. Seriously.
The plan of the Nationalist Christians that are pushing for a lot of this shit is chaos, violence, and bloodshed. They are trying to bring - and think they are bringing - about the biblical end-times.
I think they currently don’t have a plan because their original (bad) plan failed, and those in the military with any actual sense are simply trying to minimize casualties because they know the war isn’t worth it.
It’s slowly dawning on the fascists that they cannot bring about a swift victory because closing the strait and not falling apart from decapitation is what Iran prepared for. Meanwhile the pressure from everyone else to reopen the strait will pile up far faster than Iran’s military can be wiped. Even if that nuked Tehran, it wouldn’t be enough. They’d need to sacrifice far more lives and get their hands dirty to change the equation.
The only thing they can do is withdraw and claim they’ve done enough damage, which is what they should’ve been planning to do the entire time. It’s what I genuinely thought they were doing, but I was giving them too much credit.
