True!

Quote from a 2022 paper:

"SARS-CoV-2 is not unique in its ability to cause post-acute sequelae; certain acute infections have long been associated with an unexplained chronic disability in a minority of patients."

This paper uses the term Post-Acute Infection Syndrome (PAIS). Another umbrella term I've heard is Infection Associated Chronic Conditions (IACC).

PAIS is the official ICD-11 term for ME/CFS + Post-[Infection_Name]-Syndrome, you’ll see term a lot and a lot more in research papers in the upcoming years.

Thanks! But IACC is also a pretty common term, used by OMF, Bateman Horne Center, Solve ME, and a few other groups.

I don't have a preference! I just thought I'd mention both terms since I've seen IACC used fairly often (links to examples)
