The peach tree has its tent! Hopefully the blossoms survive down to 13Β°F. It's double walled with an air gap and 1.5oz frost fabric so rating wise it should work out. πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ‘ A couple blossoming daffodils got buckets. All the raised beds are covered, we're trying to keep the food alive.

@That_One_Guy good luck!
@LJ
Thank you! We'll survive if something happens but after the work and time out in, it is annoying to have such a late hard freeze take the blossoms.
@That_One_Guy yeah. That happened here 5 or 6 years ago. Such a heart break.
@That_One_Guy Looks like a nice effort there. Fingers crossed the wind doesn’t take it away. It’s 37ΒΊ here now and I can hear sleet hitting the windows. I made sure all of the hostas had a tall covering of leaves but everything else is on its own.
@moelassus
I pounded the 4 legs in then drove two t post and two ceder stakes into the ground and secured it with 3 inch screws.
@That_One_Guy That seems pretty solid! Now I envision looking out the window only to see the whole yard being dragged down the street behind the tent! LOL
@moelassus
I wanted to make sure if anything the tent would rip them still be stuck there. It sucks it's for a single event.
@That_One_Guy I like to add incandescent bulbs of some kind to mine. I usually use old Christmas lights. They add heat, and I've had great results. If you don't have those, an old work light.
@Ambrecht
I have an old work lamp in there in a timer. I don't want it on all night. My wife found the light trick in some gardening forum.
@That_One_Guy
You probably know that trick, in case not: these graveyard candles that burn for almost a week are capable of heating a greenhouse to above freezing! Probably any candle works, but they last really long and are cheap
@Hippie
We're using an old incandescent work light on a timer but the same principle.
@That_One_Guy nice, way less fossil, too!

@Hippie
We actually have a box of old 24hr hurricane candles. I'll use those next year.

This is our first year having to worry about it so we're learning. Light on a timer smart plug was sitting in front of me.
