@eunews
Who would have thought that putting tariffs on allies and talking about invading them would result in America having no one to help in their time of need.

Preview isn’t working. Can’t see what you posted.
@Pinchy63 @chris it's Sesame Street muppet Elmo giving ann open armed shrug, suggesting oh well, whatever in response
@BsCreativeLife @chris
Thanks now I see it. Sun spots maybe? 🤔 😁
@Pinchy63 @chris Media can be a bit slower to traverse servers. When this happens you can sometimes help it along by interacting with the post (for example, click the "favorite" button, then click it again to undo it — though this potentially generates a notification for them if they're on at that time.) Alternately you can click the three dots and choose view original to see it on their server and it should load immediately there.
@nazokiyoubinbou @chris
Thank you for that! Much appreciated!

@Pinchy63
This is not a "time of need". Iran was attacked whilst at the negotiating table .This is a war of choice, started at a time decided by the attackers. The consequences of a failure to plan and to gain a wider consensus does not of itself place obligations on any 3rd party. Neither do the political consequences of the attackers calling a halt to their attacks. Nato is a defensive alliance, this is not a war of defence. Irans defence does not constitute an attack on a Nato ally.
@Pinchy63 @eunews add that they unilaterally decided to attack Iran, and create an economic and geopolitical mess without any prior consultation.
@Pinchy63 @eunews ANd he's left to begging for help because even the US Navy commanders are telling him no, escorts for tankers not a good idea.
@Pinchy63 @eunews "Need" - like we had any need to fuck around in the Middle East more.
@gooba42 @Pinchy63 @eunews if we actually “needed” to secure the straight we would. We could line that bitch with aircraft carriers, sprinkle in dozens of destroyers, battleships lined up end to end in the center, all of them bristling with guns and missiles. Just pull what’s shelling Iran, sail up the assets from the Caribbean, recall the Venezuelan invasion force, pull the Cuba submarines ( almost forgot about them). We just kinda want it open.

@passwordsarehard4 @gooba42 @Pinchy63 @eunews

That's not how aircraft carriers are supposed to work. They stand back behind concentric layers of defenses and don't let anything get within 400 miles of them-- the Strait of Hormuz is too fucking narrow, the minute they try to go in there they're inside the range of all kinds of cheap land-based missiles and their main advantages are gone.

If we send carriers in there, they might actually get sunk.

I've seen it described as a trap so obvious and stupid it may as well be a cartoon box with a stick under it tied to a string.

Iran probably would've loved to block us from the Strait a long time ago, but didn't because we'd bomb the shit out of them. Now that we're bombing them anyway, they have no reasons left not to give us the finger as hard as they possibly can for as long as they can. Which will fuck up our shit, badly, for years. A Shahed drone is $50k, the average 7 interceptors we throw to take one down cost MILLIONS.

Which is (just one of many many reasons) why this whole fucking mess was A BAD IDEA.

But you're otherwise quite right. If the oligarchs running this show cared about the consequences, they would've put a stop to it.

It's not just Iran that's being destabilized. It's THE WORLD.

Get what I'm saying?

The technofascist war profiteers see smoking rubble as easier to control than stable, functioning communities with democratic expectations. They want Iran to look like Gaza, and they're not going to stop with the Middle East. THEY'LL DO IT TO THE USA TOO. Nobody is fucking safe.

@Pinchy63 @eunews "need" really belongs in air quotes there too. It's more like "help us stop scoring own-goals".
@Pinchy63 and that time of need was caused by hubris and stupidity. By Trump and his Maga boys. Let him eat the sh* he cooked up himself. @eunews
Donald Trump Stuns With 'Maybe We Shouldn't Even Be There' Admission About Iran War

"Sorry, what was that?" one critic hit back at the president on social media.

Yahoo News
@eunews why we should help the person who started a war, when he said multiple times "I will bring peace" or something like this.
Killing children wasn't enough for him I guess.
@ChopChop65 Indeed. My country's Constitution (Italy) clearly rejects war as a way to solve global problems. Italian politicians announced it as well, so Trump can't rely on us for sure. We won't participate in genocides, whether he likes it or not.

@eunews So, let me get this straight. The rest of the world *isn't* on board with Trump's war crime illegal violent attack against another country?

Well, as great of a strategist as he assures us that he is, I'm *sure* he must have planned around this definitely. I mean, he wouldn't make a warcrime illegal attack against other countries without being sure-

Yeah no, I can't even joke about that. The man's a bluthering idiot and IMO rather than rejections they should be issuing sactions.

@eunews
Isn't UK sending Minesweeper drones? Though that's not what Trump wants.

Trump's plea is a stupid idea.

@eunews

He who starts a war should be able to handle it "Alone" or leave it at the beginning!

@HolgerH

Lema: No one is able to handle a war alone.

Conclusion is left as an exercise to the reader. :P

@eunews this is, send your ships so your ships get destroyed and your people killed as if americans are hurt in my war....
@eunews Piss off your allies and, surprise, surprise, they are in no mood to join in your illegal war!
@eunews did he ask Denmark?
@noplasticshower @eunews HDMS Grønland is en route! 🫡
@noplasticshower @eunews We'll see if we can spare a dog sledge or two.
@eunews Why send troops to a war that has already been won decisively by unstoppable U.S. military might and the genius of Donald Trump?

@eunews It will be interesting to see what happens if Iran –as announced – allows ships from countries that do not support the war to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. In that case, the listed countries would have facilitated the passage of ships flying their flags.

At least until the U.S. starts sinking those ships. I know, but what isn’t possible right now? 😵‍💫

@eunews nobody in the mood for WWIII

@MvB19
That’s actually a positive development since WWII: While there have been many “playing with fire” kind of situations (many aweful transgressions, like regional wars killing millions), once there is a scare that it could turn “big”, suddenly everyone’s really sees the need for “peaceful solutions” or at least develops a sudden lack of interest in playing in that particular war.

(Meagure, but it’s something at least.)
@eunews

@eunews
Eeegads! It’s exhilarating seeing people/countries telling 47 “NO!”

WTG, nations with integrity!

#ImpeachTrump
#StopTrumpNow
#NoWar

He didn't ask Denmark? 🤪
@eunews Other than that it is going so well
@eunews Thanks for this update! They hate us for our freedoms!
@eunews It would have been quicker to ask who isn't coming.🤔🤔🤔 ...But wasn't he also asking for money to attend this wonderful event?😂😂😂

@chipchop_mast @eunews

Everyone who attends gets a special FIFA world peace trophy.

@eunews
Isn't the solution to a problem to remove the cause? How would adding more cause contribute...?
#Hormuz
@eunews he should demand to plead his case in front of the Hauge and make every country listen to him.
@eunews the US Congress hasn’t declared war so we aren’t really in it either.
@passwordsarehard4 @eunews you are at, war by default, as you have done a war attack, it's an illegal war witch is even worse.
@passwordsarehard4 @eunews Congress also failed to assert those powers and said, "Yeah, go ahead I guess."
@eunews
So.... "A lack of planning on your part doesnt constitute an emergency on my part" on world power levels 🤦‍♀️

@eunews

THANK HEAVENS.

Not going to relax yet, I'm still scared the UK is going to jump to heel like a good little sidekick like they did in Iraq.

Observador

@eunews

So it’s still just Israel and USA ploughing on with their illegal war. Dragging more countries and NATO in by claiming they would be enabling the Strait of Hormuz to reopen is a trap, to both legitimise the war and spread the deaths more widely.

Trump and Netanyahu didn’t consult with allies before they blundered into Iran and Lebanon, but now feel exposed as their horrific actions have financial consequences.

@eunews does South Korea has a say on this? lol

I thought they were subject to the US Army

@eunews

Maybe Hungary or Argentina can help.

Hungarian navy may be pretty powerful, if you use the power of your imagination.

And it may be the perfect time for Argentina to waste huge amounts of money licking Trump's boots.

@eunews

"We need more clarity here" just makes my mind expand it to "if the US could send Donny over in an inflatable dingy to show us how it's done that would be great."

@eunews I'm sorry my country's government are such cowards!
@eunews whoops! No free assistance for you!
@eunews you can't secure it without boots on the ground, if the USA don't send own men, why should countries not part of the war do it?
Trumpery orange may use this as a reason to leave NATO, which he do not have mandate for

@eunews
Thank you for your post.
Kudos to Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan and China for rejecting joining his Hormuz coalition. May you all prosper.

Peace

@eunews Ah, if only the US Republican party were as smart as all you folks.
@eunews the Netherlands by now rejected, as per prime minister Jetten who held a Presser together with Merz
@eunews The Netherlands recently, as in last week, had a KC-135 refeuler flying what I'd guess was practice in southwestern Nevada. Practice for what? No idea, but it was up for a while on ADS-B.
