Finally I can look into the mirror to see a respectable nerd again. Now I can hang around with the cool kids again. Just took me 8 month to get this damn keyboard.

Its so nice. 🤩

A pretty good upgrade. I had before a Keychron K3 Pro but this thing is a huge upgrade.

I got the version with brown switches.

@obrhoff Welcome to the good side.
Do your wallet a favor and don’t look at r/MechanicalKeyboards.
@saschagordner @obrhoff and don't look into split ergos 👀
@ctietze @obrhoff *checks calendar*
only 6 more months until my Altair will be shipped 🫠
@obrhoff Beautiful keycaps! Unfortunately no UK ISO Layout. However, why 8 months?

@phranck Weird, it’s that the box is different. It’s a DE-ISO. I ordered it at CandyKeys, which originally should have been shipped in September. After waiting that time, I had enough and just ordered it on Amazon.

They always came with new excuses to postpone the date. I cannot recommend them.

btw its a Nuphy Air 75 V3

@obrhoff Noice! Are they available in a darker tone and with UK ISO, too?

@phranck I'm not sure. There is a Dark version of it and a UK Iso but it seems the combination is not available currently. (at least on their website)

@obrhoff hey cool 😎. Nice caps!

@obrhoff uhm… am I the only one that doesn't understand the whole craze for mechanical keybaords? I love MBP M1 low-profile keyboard ;o

less travel for fingers, less force and less noise ;o

@wojtek @obrhoff And TouchID !
@lucsky @wojtek I’m not sure what is happening here. Whats next? The Magic Mouse is the best and most comfortable mouse ever created?

@lucsky

yes! loving it! <3

@obrhoff hmm… tbh before getting my first MBP I couldn't imagine NOT using mouse… it took less than a week and the concept of using mouse became completely foreign to me and afterwards each time I had to use mouse it felt soooo weird :D

And the magic mouse always looked quite bad - to thin to be comfortable (no hand curvature)…

Keyboard wise - I just love that I don't have to use force and too much movement to type :D

my nephew has some mechanical keyboard and dear lord - it's just to exhausing to use :D (and the noise it makes =,=)

I did get some inexpensive external keyboard for playing Hollow Knight / Silksong because in this case travel time makes a lot of difference (and I didn't want to damage built-in keyboard with too much key-bashing as it would itsy-bitsy slightly more inconvenient to replace ;) )

@obrhoff @wojtek I’m not making a judgement here, I’m just saying that if I were to switch to one of those mechanical keyboard (which I’m regularly tempted to) I would 100% miss the TouchID key.
@lucsky @wojtek Yeah TouchID is really a killer feature but I think it’s too much of a stretch to force users to use only that one Magic Keyboard they offer.
@obrhoff @wojtek Agreed. I wouldn’t expect a standalone TouchID device to be economically viable but I would definitely buy one 😁
@obrhoff It’s so cool! I also used to own one and loved it - until some colleagues at my former employer raised a complaint about the noise (anonymously) and I was asked to switch back to the magic keyboard 🥲
