Well, I nearly lost hope they would actually make it, but Apple made a huge leap forward in iOS 26 b6! Much improved Liquid Glass readability, very nice animation enhancements and a lot better responsiveness overall!
Love how iOS 26 now (with beta 6) has the same genie-ish opening animations for apps as iPadOS 26
iOS 26 b5. Can someone at Apple tell the designers they should for god‘s sake get a grip of theirselves and fix this mess?! 😤 This is like watching an accident happen.
(Btw I also love that the background says „AI apps we love“. I can’t do this anymore 🫠)
27 screenshots taken by accident today. Just found out you can holistically disable screenshots on the watch. Gonna do this for now. But I wish there was an option to only disable them when there is an active workout.
My camera roll after every round of golf. I’m very close to stop wearing it…
Supporting another device orientation just for a single screen in SwiftUI is disproportionately hard.
I tried all the view modifiers I could find on the web and none worked for me.
Interestingly, the most common one resulted in the same view being shown twice?! Didn’t know this is even possible 💀
Tab-bar animations are still unusably buggy.
It's almost August.
We're supposed to ship software to our customers using these APIs in six weeks.
I really liked that, before animations were subtle but still very detailed and only noticeable when you would pay close attention or record the screen and play the transition in slow motion. E.g. the navigation title morphing into the back button. Not distracting, but enough for the ones who care.
E.g. why does a whole sheet have to move when interacting with it? Or when bar buttons change between screens, it’s just too much with scale effect plus blur etc.
I‘m a big fan of nice UI animations and I really appreciate that iOS has gotten more and more animations throughout the last years. But in the iOS 26 betas for my personal taste they really overdid it. It’s just too much movement, it became rather annoying and distracting.
