sometimes people say you shouldn’t favorite posts on fedi. i am here to say that you should Definitely favorite mine, because every time you favorite one of my posts i get a smol favorite star that is cute and sparkly and also tasty to eat :3

twice in my life I have seen people say "people on fedi say not to like posts."

but never in my life have I seen people on fedi say not to like posts.

it cannot be true because there is no reason anybody would ever say or ask for that. no reason at all exists. not on fedi.

there must have been a misunderstanding where somebody mistook reddit and fedi and this bizarre idea emerged as a meme!

@netkitty I was told the star button was to mark the post as read. I like that. It sets the bar nice and low. I try to let people know I've read it and appreciate it.

I also have started boosting more. At first I was worried if people wouldn't like my boosts and that I should create more original posts. But I've given up on that type of thinking. If I think others should see it I boost.

@netkitty Why on earth shouldn’t you favourite posts on fedi? For me, it’s a little Thank you! for sharing, for I like it, for I agree (also to a serious matter which isn’t really ”likeable”), for Good point!, and for Adorable kitten!, of course, among many other nuances.
