Same thing with cell phone providers. Yuck.
Well, look at you, remembering that "good" is an actual thing that exists.
Beggars can't be choosers. How dare you have standards! Beg for whatever noisome scraps the megacorps deign to sprinkle upon us in their glory and power. Beg! BEG!
@LoganFive I hate it as well. I hate how the structure makes me choose between the mega maiming machine and the delayed maiming machine. It makes my soul feel plunged in a sea of black.
But we are in the structure, and being threatened to have it brought down on all of our heads. So I resolve to push against it, and push for more than two buttons, and for a better structure on a local level (ranked choice, funded campaigns, ending citizens united, local elections, school boards, etc.)
@LoganFive when someone gives me a situation where I 'have' choose between two things I think of the double bind.

Often though not always there are more options.
@LoganFive that's the choice you have right now.
To get a better choice is on us building it from the ground up.
Doing nothing is in actual practical fact strengthening the greater evil.
@LoganFive Here in the UK I think we experienced a very real demonstration of what happens to a genuinely-principled politician aiming to take the highest office of the land to do actual good when Jeremy Corbyn found out about the power the right-wing press holds.
All of our countries are broken.
