Hedders@petrillic @gsuberland @GossiTheDog I think that's why it being animated rather than live action is a good idea. It gives it space to breathe and be its own thing, plus it means we can ignore the fact that the cast are like 20 years older (and that Ron Glass is sadly no longer with us).

@GossiTheDog I was excited to see the movie. The house lights darkened, the crowd mumurred... Then a bunch of commercials.. then trailers. When the 5th preview started, I yelled "Serenity Now!"
A couple people got the reference and laughed. Several others told me to shush.

And after looking at firefly, it's just firefly, but gayer and more unhinged.
The constant low grade fear someone else will do it better? Blegh...
