Someone put a lot of time and money into this extremely detailed replica of the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 time machine from Back to the Future. It's probably not their daily driver. They probably only drive it.... from time to time.

I know of someone who did this, maybe not as detailed as this. He takes it to shows around the country. It's something he really enjoys. No he doesn't drive it as it's no longer road legal.

@pewnack Road? I bet where they're going they don't need... roads. @weirdonwheels
@stibbons I think people are missing the joke. It's a good joke!
@weirdonwheels Theyโ€™ll get it. In time.
@weirdonwheels @stibbons Ahem...you must have friends in low places. ๐Ÿ˜ผ

@weirdonwheels

But where do you get a Mr. Fusion these days?

@RustyRing @weirdonwheels
Just scam a few Libyans out of plutonium.

@weirdonwheels

There's a whole community of DeLorean modders who make time machines!

I discovered this by accident one night many years ago when I passed a parking lot with six or eight DeLoreans having a meetup. MOST of them were modded to be time machines, in exquisite detail. There was also a DeLorean RC toy time machine, and one somebody built from Lego. What a surreal, wonderful experience.

@ralfmaximus You sure it wasn't just one person repeatedly travelling back to the same time? @weirdonwheels

@weirdonwheels the only reasonable thing to do with a DeLorean

(it's not like you can daily drive them)

@weirdonwheels
The destination time is incorrect. It should be November 05 1955.
