Our intro and Q via @bobjonkman

Q1. Where are you posting from today? If you're a #FairWeatherCyclist what's the start of #CyclingSeason? A particular calendar date? A certain temperature? 40 days and 40 nights of no snow?

#BikeNiteQ #BikeTooter cc @bikenite

@ascentale @bobjonkman @bikenite #BikeNite A1: Posting from Zurich, Switzerland. I'm an #AllYearCycling cyclist, slightly being annoyed that I already changed the tires on two of my Bromptons from studded winter to near slick summer tires (Conti Urban Contact; the 3rd runs on Schwalbe Marathon Plus all year round) and now they're announcing snowfall on the day I'll probably can fetch one of them from the LBS. πŸ™„

Then again I didn't want my guests to have to ride on studded tires on dry surfaces.

@xtaran @ascentale @bobjonkman @bikenite From the UK - cycle approx 9 months of the year with Marathon Schwalbe on the Brompton. Occasionally consider studded tyres but don’t feel I use it enough in bad weather to justify them. Interested to know how they feel though.
@adrianthorne @ascentale @bobjonkman @bikenite A1: The Schwalbe (non-Marathon) Winter on the 16" Brompton feel a bit rough (only 2 rows of studs due being a rather narrow tire and of course bigger rolling resistance. But it's ok-ish. The Schwalbe Marathon Winter Plus on the 20" Electric G-Line felt totally ok, but probably also because it's an e-bike. Rode them for about 4 months this winter as my daily driver until the freewheel broke. Currently waiting for the LBS to call that it's fixed.
@xtaran @ascentale @bobjonkman @bikenite That’s interesting. Thanks. How are you finding the G line? I love my C but it is a bit hard on anything other than a really smooth road.
@adrianthorne @ascentale @bobjonkman @bikenite: I love the Electric G-Line. It's so versatile regarding to the ground you're riding on. Also safer with regards to tramway rails. It's my daily driver for a year now. But for train travel and some similar situations where space is scarce, I still prefer a 16" Brompton, as the G-Line is much more clunky when folded.
@xtaran Thanks that’s good to know. Glad to hear the ride quality is improved.
