Today is day 26 of #30DaysWild and it's again #butterfly day😻 During #hedgewatch we met this beauty. It is probably either a Zygaena purpuralis or a Zygaena minos. Only expurrts can tell the difference.
They are beautiful & both on the #RedList 😿

@GeologistsCat fairly certain these are purpuralis, fwiw. the red markings approach the discal cell veins much more closely than in minos, which has wider gaps that form three almost-distinct patches. the dark gap across the center is also wider in minos than it is in purpuralis, although that's harder to discern from this photo.
