thinking about the noita demake… how can I change the gameplay to fit with toki pona?

in noita, everything tries to kill you! the fun part (for me at least) is abusing spell mechanics to design crazy wands that err… kill things better

this fits if the world is out to get you, but I don't think toki pona is that kind of world…

ooh, I like the idea of gardening! so you gotta cultivate and maintain the world around you… how would spells work with that?

as for "freeing" enemies, I'm worried it may have colonialism(?) vibes, especially if the intent is to get more spells

@notchoc I was imaging they were your friends in my head. I'm imaging it more exploration focused. Like trying to restore the space around you bit by bit, learning new techniques along the way. Combine them and stuff.

mm, not sure how a spell system would really work.

@notchoc Tho, I think a toki-pona demake of noita would have to toss the whole idea of "get more powerful to defeat thing" and probably ditch combat all together in favor of something that focus on trying to find understanding. but that is getting pretty far from Noita.
yup! after thinking about it more, I realize that what I enjoy from noita is the process of enhancing your own survival
