Completed a run of #Noita at long last. The trick was having a wand that always made a rock appear and then sticking freeze and homing spells on it, so that I essentially had infinite sentient rocks flying around the place killing everything that moved. I was like Ludo from Labyrinth. It was very silly

I managed to get Noita working again on Arch after a reinstall (turns out it needs the 32-bit nvidia drivers or it won't start), so I decided to finally get on with deciphering the mysterious alphabet seen in-game.

There are writings in various places all over the game which look like they're in some strange language, but it's actually a monoalphabetic substitution cipher. It took me way too long to realize that this is the real reason for the tablets and books you keep finding - you can use them to reverse the cipher and thus read the in-game text.

Yes, I could just look up the answers, but codebreaking is fun!
