Which means its time to install a desktop on this nice old Latitude.
After fixing the Intel Wifi not working because somehow I always have the exact hardware with the bug and not any of the others that don't have a typo in the firmware package filename 👼

It works best on laptops with nipples because those (Thinkpad/Latitude) are best supported hardware wise 😁
Heck, even lid close suspend to S3 works. And more importantly, waking up afterwards. With the sound still working. Which I've not managed before either.
I cheated and used sysutils/desktop-installer though, which does a lot of obscure incantations so I don't have to pry them out of various wiki pages and forum posts myself.
