New Mexico NomadMar 10

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is a narrow-gauge steam railroad providing a step back to the Old West with mountain vistas, deep canyons, high trestles, and tunnels, running seasonally from late May to October. Jointly owned by Colorado and New Mexico, it features vintage steam locomotives and offers different trip lengths for guests.

@newmexiconomad My #BetterHalf and I snagged seats on the Cumbers & Toltec's day-long #Geology train ride. 10/10. A very long day but just a fantastic experience. Wonderful scenery combined with professional (but not over your head) descriptions of the earth processes that shaped what we were seeing at various stops.

@wanderinghermit @newmexiconomad The Geology train ride is only twice a year. A little pricey but well worth it. Includes the same buffet lunch as the "normal" trip.
