Delighted to see the Tobacco and Vapes Bill 2024-2026 (UK) pass through the House of Lords - overcoming much Big Tobacco interference, obstruction and contestation. Baroness Gillian Merron for Labor commented on this landmark bill: 'Smoking is the number one preventable cause of death, disability and ill health and tobacco claims around 80,000 lives every year. While tobacco remains the greatest threat, this legislation is about protecting future generations from the harms of not only tobacco but nicotine addiction.'

@skribe WA and Tasmania and SA have talked about tobacco endgame laws - but not acted on the proposals. NZ passed a tobacco endgame bill under Jacinda Ardern - but it was repealed under conservative coalition.
