JOB UPDATE!!

I am happy to announce I signed an offer for a new Senior SRE position, starting April 6!

THANK YOU ALL for the support and encouragement, I could not have made it through this ordeal without my community!!

++++++++++++

Conference over. My talk was a success.

But it pays nothing. Nobody is banging on my front door with jobs because I gave a talk at a big conference.

I desperately need a job, coming up on 9 months unemployed.

I am looking for Incidents, SRE, or Platform work. I have been judged as overqualified for Senior roles, so my focus is Staff+ and such.

My LI profile is as good as anything for understanding my work history, so here it is:

@dtauvdiodr ya. Itโ€™s a thing. I did a conference talk about rejection a few years ago. I even built an app to keep track of my job search, JobLog.
@dtauvdiodr how about starting a small business in consulting or coaching?
@funz I don't have the resources to start a small business, unfortunately.
@dtauvdiodr @alice Hereโ€™s a list of companies doing remote, hope itโ€™s helpful! https://taffer.ca/posts/2025/remote/

@dtauvdiodr have you considered tutoring? My industry is fire safety but I no longer carry out physical work and about a year ago, I switched to tutor work teaching fire safety which has expanded into a large number of qualifications in related training platforms, all provided by the training companies I partner with. Review your fields of expertise and see if you possess any knowledge that is used in training scenarios and then find partners who can utilise your skills to train others. 1)
@dtauvdiodr in Ireland, most tutors are self employed and work on a sub contract basis which means they have control over their work life balance. ๐Ÿ”š
@dtauvdiodr I don't want to click on the linkedin link so would you mind pasting your work history here or describing what you're looking for?
@dtauvdiodr Yay! Congrats! Good luck for the future!
@dtauvdiodr Yay, so happy to hear it, Matt :) ๐Ÿ’•
