jwz@cmconseils I remember the exact moment when my soul left my body. I was in a theatre on the first day of release of The Two Towers and at the two hour mark I realized I had reached my lifetime recommended dosage of Tolkien and tapped out, like my nuclear rad card had just gone black.

Even though about a third of the behind the scenes of Two Towers and Return of the King was just reused footage from Fellowship...

That said I've read the Hobbit as a teenager during a familly gathering in a single seating (yes I'm a very fast reader, at the time I probably read between 100 to 200 pages per day of every kind of book I could get). Later in life I read all the books including the Silmarillion. That was well over the 12 hours mark !
I'm not sure if that "shows" though.
Dennis Howard@cmconseils I've done that mutiple times! Along with the extended editions you also need the (widescreen) theatrical version of The Fellowship of the Rings 2-DVD set because it has the Enya video that is not on the extended edition DVDs!
