Some of you have never spent 12 hours watching Lord of the Rings extended editions and it shows

@cmconseils

why did they not take the stealtheagles?

@cmconseils

And some of those have never watched the extended edition, followed by all of the extras... Which takes the total time to watch, closer to 30hrs.

I have... more than once.

@cmconseils what did the scene where the hobbit get there feet waxed actually add to the plot
@GezThePez it's in the bonuses, not in the movies
@cmconseils is there commentary
@cmconseils I've never even been able to watch a non-extended edition without falling asleep within the first half hour and I'm not going to apologize for it either. 😬
@cmconseils I'm sorry, I'll do better
@cmconseils I remember the exact moment when my soul left my body. I was in a theatre on the first day of release of The Two Towers and at the two hour mark I realized I had reached my lifetime recommended dosage of Tolkien and tapped out, like my nuclear rad card had just gone black.
@jwz @cmconseils I remember a very similar moment when I was in a theatre, binge watching star wars, the empire strikes back, the return of jedi, and the new childrens movie with jar jar binks.

@cmconseils

My friend did that, watched them back to back! 😱

@monkeyben oh don't worry I'm worse
Watched them back to back in a theatre

@cmconseils

Oh my! πŸ«£πŸ˜‚

@cmconseils Many years ago, when home sick with a flu, I had a marathon of the full DVD set 😜
@cmconseils I still don't have re-seen the movie trilogy as many times as i have re-read Tolkien's books.
@cmconseils Haven't even spent nine hours to watch the short version.

@cmconseils

back when I had a week off between Xmas and new years that played in the background every year for 8 years

@cmconseils well not consecutively... watching the extended editions and all the behind the scenes stuff was just part of our Christmas rituals for three years when they came out. Even though about a third of the behind the scenes of Two Towers and Return of the King was just reused footage from Fellowship...
@cmconseils A long walk with elves in it.

@cmconseils I admit I didn't watch the extended editions.

That said I've read the Hobbit as a teenager during a familly gathering in a single seating (yes I'm a very fast reader, at the time I probably read between 100 to 200 pages per day of every kind of book I could get). Later in life I read all the books including the Silmarillion. That was well over the 12 hours mark !

I'm not sure if that "shows" though.

@cmconseils I've done that mutiple times! Along with the extended editions you also need the (widescreen) theatrical version of The Fellowship of the Rings 2-DVD set because it has the Enya video that is not on the extended edition DVDs!

Am I too obsessive?

@cmconseils nah, those shoes don't fit me πŸ˜‚ more than three times, I daresay.
