Creative geek: maker of music and synths, casual artist, programmer/analyst, wrangler of foundations of physics, fiction writer.

Not related to my day job (tech writer, content strategist, software developer).

My websitehttps://johnvalentine.co.uk

Another moan about our throwaway society.

My vacuum cleaner (Dyson Animal/Cinetic Ball), which I thought was worth spending more on a few years ago, has failed - brush bar slipped out of its bearing; makes melting plastic smells. I'd need to replace the cleaning head (part 966377-01).

Official site: "out of stock"
Suppliers: "discontinued"

Sunken cost: replaced split hose, added a hard floor head. All obsolete!

All I can find is a scalper on eBay, who wants 70% of the cost of a new vac.

Re-viewing old art.

I should have called this "The Family Business". It tells of a child far too young to process what's happening: the destruction of a city from space.

I wanted to draw planetary atmospheres, cities from space, backlit people, fuzzy filtered reflections, epic destruction and atmospheric disturbance, and (nearly) composition. And a story.

For some reason, I was determined to do art. I usually put a watermark signature on my art, do I need to here?

I'll not hear complaints about score values ;-)

Reviewing my old art.

This is a concept piece, with a working title, "Friendly Bombing"

Retrospectively, this has a Banksy feel.

25% scale.

I've unfollowed some people who post great content that I get a lot of value from.

However, they persistently didn't quote their sources. That means lots of artists, satirists, humorists, and other good eggs don't get the recognition and commissions they deserve.

To be more plain, it's predatory, and no better than AI as theft.

Please quote your sources, in an accessible way.

In the last three hours, I had an idea and drafted a 6-page conjecture.

> Conjecture on the cosmological constant as a local variable scalar mass field operator

This is hyperfocus at work. I'm not sure yet whether I produced total rubbish or a valid document.

Given I'm not an expert in the field [no pun intended], I think it might be the former.

I'm reluctant to share, but https://johnvalentine.co.uk/ph#papers

Deterministic collapse mechanism - Po8

New word, accidentally typed:

Megative.

I propose: minus one million, or very bad.
