Deleting #reddit finally seems to be moving my habits in a better direction after a couple of months. Rather than doomscrolling over the impending end of the world, I've actually been able to read a few books for once! (Thanks #Bookwyrm).

That being said, it's been simultaneously difficult to keep on top of what's going on in the world, and my interest and involvement in several hobbies. While a decrease in my following of sports is probably for the best, the subsequent decrease of following the middle eastern war is certainly for the worse. Not knowing what's going on with Linux... 😬

I'll probably fine tune my feed here or something. It's all an adjustment.

@OutwateredFish

Just letting you know that Gnu/Linux is still here, still strong, and welcoming new users everyday.

@unusnemo

Well of course, and I have been using it for 10 years. I just don't have a concentrated source for discussion of it like r/linux was.

Just need to rebuild a different source for it, that's all.

@OutwateredFish

I have been using Gnu/Linux since some where around 1992, I am always up for a good Linux discussion 😉. By the way, I was only joking around I meant no harm nor did I intend to insult you in anyway.

@OutwateredFish I'm also trying to move away from Reddit. I deleted Facebook. I deleted X, bluesky, and blacksky.

For news, have you tried Ground News or Kagi News? Great to keep up with on going nightmare but no getting sucked into the mindless stupidity of bot posts/replies.

@FearlessPotato

I tried it WAY back in the day but it was a bit undercooked at that time. Might have to give it another shot.
