unexpectedly also got blender 5.0 with vulkan backend mostly working on rk3588 mnt pocket reform (custom build from git with very light patching, with current mesa compiled from git)
workbench render engine also works...
@mntmn  sooo looking forward for full time gamedeving on mnt
@mntmn yeah. gonna start saving for one 鈽猴笍馃珎馃挏
@mntmn using an soc that's the primary dev target for panvk is definitely a boon
@mntmn what light patches do you have locally?
@austriancoder i can send you tomorrow, basically turned off checks for 3 vulkan features (geom shaders, multiviews and shaderclipdistance). and disabled eevee shadow pipeline, but not 100% sure if needed. it's just that i know that unsupported features were in the shadow pipe before. i built blender from tag v5.0.
@mntmn Thanks. Regarding shaderclipdistance: I already started to work on that feature for panvk - as I do it for day job, it should land quite soon.

@mntmn mnt steam deck when?
@mntmn oh damn, now I need money.

@mntmn The Debian packaging for 5.0.1 was pushed to this MR five days ago: https://salsa.debian.org/multimedia-team/blender/-/merge_requests/10#note_731729

If you are in a rush we could use this to build a blender 5.0.1 Debian package in a reform-debian-packages branch before the MR on Debian salsa gets merged and uploaded to unstable.

@josch not in a rush, i wouldn't want it in reform-debian-packages because it would make the build (for kernel work etc) again a lot longer
@mntmn blender 5.0.1+dfsg-1 is now in experimental: https://tracker.debian.org/news/1727898/accepted-blender-501dfsg-1-source-into-experimental/ If you have a patch it now became trivial to build blender with that patch on MNT gitlab CI.
