-No one is free until we are all free-

I am trying to escape the technomedieval landscape of corporate social media and transition into the virtual forests, the lands of everyone, down with the lords, all power to all people.

I create things. I keep finding new ways of doing it. I love it <3

@YoSoyFreeman 's sky shader is now available in the godot asset library (free and open source).

This time we focused on providing a professional, physically based ray marched sky shader and a matching scripted directional light.

- Real time altitude
- Rayleigh scattering
- Mie absorption
- Ozone absorption
- Full Rayleigh phase
- Dual lobe Henyey-Greenstein phase for Mie
- Fully documented source code

@mikecane @pluralistic for anyone that has one of these, there's free open source software: https://calibre-ebook.com/ that allows you to manage files on these devices and buy ebooks from other sources.

I have done so for years on my Kindle, which has not left airplane mode in about 5 years.

You can continue to use the devices, and not give Amazon any more money, if you wish.

Coming back to the main gameplay concept for the game, which we are soon sending funding applications for, polishing things here and there to make things look nice, even though I have all sorts of uncomfy questions + 2D indecissions. A lot of this concept should be happening in-engine, and here I am still in Krita, everything static. Still, going through the process slowly, but steadily, trying to guess how this game is gonna be looking 🐌

Tasks of today are bringing in a bunch of gameplay assets into Unity to "complete" a first world concept, even if style and process will definitely change over time

Character for the moment stays a colorful set of blobs

Now onto tile-based gameplay plants

Coming to terms with 2D tools in Unity for main next prototype, which we will divide into a gameplay and visual prototype.

For the visual, I will be sharing more in detail what is happening, approach and limitations, but for the moment, I'll just begin by sharing some of the images I am working with:

Questions that keep haunting me are:
* Contrast between gameplay and background
* Clear view of interactive surfaces
* Massive background totally invisible from gameplay

Please do try the prototype, and if you do, feedback is greatly appreciated. This time around I am first writing the entire thing not to rely on my future self keep writing updates to the initial thread. Hopefully that will make things easier.

Something derived from that same texture atlas optimization process is a shader I made along with Edd in Amplify shader to randomize the texture displayed by ground tiles, from a tiny 4-cell atlas, based on a noise texture
