doing some MNT Reform Next production part checks, esp. cables and some PCBs... can't believe it's starting to come together after those years
You know, like those doors you can open my pressing a button on the wall, unsure if that tech fits in a small package tho. It could even be controlled by the grip sensor.
Regarding the new #SteamController I find it a bit of an oversight that they didn't add a way to disable the magnet to unplug it from the puck?

We’ve gone from "this is too ghoulish to exist" in 2003 to "this is the new wisdom-of-crowds infrastructure" in 2026. And it's a symptom of how we, all of us, are coming apart.

Prediction markets are, I think, the clearest single sign that our civilisation has entered a late and decadent stage.

Why prediction markets are a sure sign that our civilisation is in decay

Prediction markets are the clearest single sign our civilisation has entered a late and decadent stage. The reason isn't that they're new or sinister. It's that the case for them is defensible, the technology works, the outputs are useful, but the long-term effect is corrosive anyway.

Is it common practice in #microservices to keep duplicating data from other services to avoid doing calls to such services?

Substack promoted Andrew Tate as their #1 "bestseller" last week. Cool company. Great leadership.

So I went ahead and made a browser extension.

Kill Yr Substack intercepts every Substack link (even on custom domains) and redirects it to `archive.is`.

Substack's numbers go down. You still get to read the thing tho.

Update: If you have problems with `archive.is`, Ghost Archive is now available as an alternative redirect as of version 1.2.1.
