(CONTINUED FROM ALT TEXT) The ball doesn't hit the broom it's supposed to, and the person tries several times without success to push it over themselves, eventually getting it. The broom doesn't hit a jar of something that it's supposed to, and needs to be repositioned manually. The jar doesn't move, and needs to be pushed towards a cup with a ball in it. It knocks the cup over, the ball spills out, and a hair dryer is turned on (again, manually).
The hair dryer fails to blow the ball up the back of an upside-down chair and once again needs to be turned off manually, while the ball is lifted into the correct position. It hits some books set up like dominoes (which it does not knock over) and lands on a sticky note reading "ENFOCA LA TELE" ("LOOK AT THE TV" in Spanish). The TV is already on, and showing an announcement for a concert in Madrid, which the person proceeds to talk about excitedly before the video ends. (END ALT TEXT)

@GroupNebula563

It's a funny joke but even more epic alt text! 👏

@GroupNebula563 translation for the spanish at the end:

brilliant. and proof human workers are irreplaceable.

but CEOs probably are.

@Sassinake
CEO's don't actually produce anything. They're just overhead costs.
@GroupNebula563
@alterelefant @Sassinake @GroupNebula563
A bit like the entire government/administration – 'Overheid', as it's called in Dutch? 😉
@GroupNebula563 in all honesty, I like it better this way. The human should be involved all along.

@GroupNebula563 This is actually a hecking good metaphor...

I say this as someone who thinks LLMs have at least small uses: they are absolutely trying to cram them into things that they absolutely can't ever do. Ever. They will never ever be able to do the stuff corporations are determined to pretend they can do and there will always be some poor person trying to make it work anyway until these corporations catch a clue.

@GroupNebula563 Ehhh this was too long. Can you just summarize it for me? 😂
@Maitre A video captioned "Your company's new 'AI Agent Workflow'". It depicts a person trying to start a Rube Goldberg machine, in which nearly every step fails and has to be kickstarted individually.

@GroupNebula563 From the day prior to AI when things did work:

Honda ad: "The Cog": https://youtu.be/bl2U1p3fVRk

OK Go: This Too shall pass https://youtu.be/qybUFnY7Y8w

@jfmezei @GroupNebula563

I wanted to react and link OK GO Rube Goldberg's machine but I see you already did ♥️

@jfmezei
But that Honda ad is surely faked. Like, wtf is happening with those wheels at 25 seconds? They seems to be accelerating while they roll up the slope.

@karadoc There was a video once on the "making of" that provided actual details.

The Cog commercial.

On the tires, I assume that there are held with string/springs to have neutral "weight" so a nudge causes them to be able to move up the ramp.

@jfmezei @GroupNebula563 omg yessss i remember "the cog." granted i was born the year it aired but i did have to do a project involving a rube goldberg machine and either my teacher or my dad brought that up, i don't remember

i was also just getting into EDM at the time so my machine ended with one of those touch styluses tapping play on a 4th-gen ipod touch connected to a little speaker playing this:

@GroupNebula563

I am put in mind of the nearly 100 TCS consultants trying to implement an EDI reorder system for the sixth time.

AI Agent workflows got nothing on that bolus of intransigence, lies and stupidity.

@tuban_muzuru at least they were actually trying and not guessing :P

@GroupNebula563

Stop making excuses for these weenie wagglers. They weren't trying.

But you're right about the guessing

@tuban_muzuru fair enough. just saying that IMO there are *very few* people or things worse at coding than AI

...also, "weenie wagglers" is totally going in my lexicon

@GroupNebula563

Furboay, I can tell you have the Right Stuff, but forty years of coding, I can tell you this much: humans are far worse at coding than the machines.

They've read every fucking line of code online. In every programming language for every fucking technology and they write excellent spec.

So yeah, it's funny. But the LLM won't lie to you. The humans will.

And that's why the machines will make an honest profession of software.

@tuban_muzuru adding "furboay" to my list of nicknames

@GroupNebula563

Furboay, he snappy an lively.

@GroupNebula563
AI agents names:
- John Goodenough
- Jean-Michel Apeuprès
- Paddy Ahshuritsgrand
@GroupNebula563 This looks exactly like the efforts from Anthropic's hallucinationware in writing a C compiler and the smart human team behind it.
@GroupNebula563
Somebody tell him to stop damaging mom's old records!
@GroupNebula563 fake, real agentic workflow would harm someone in the process

@GroupNebula563

OMG yes THIS!
😂

I remember turning down a client who wanted to use AI for creation without any knowledge on quality or knowing how to control, correct, or even understand the output.

We will need people!

If not, depending on AI will create 2 worlds.
In world 1 everything will rely on it, AI deciding who has rights. This will be for 'the masses'..
World 2 will be for the ones who can afford to be creative, unique, and who will not be inside a mould.

I dread the outcome.

@GroupNebula563
Most glitch Rube Goldberg machine in history...
😀😃😄😁😆
@GroupNebula563 OK Go has nothing on this. 😅
