Our intro, and Q from @uxmark:

Q1. Where are you posting from today?

What are some encounters w/non-human animals you’ve had while cycling? One-offs? Regular interactions? Funny? Alarming? Awe-inspiring? Share photos if you have them 😀🚴‍♀️❤️

@ascentale @uxmark @bikenite A1. Toots from Atlanta like usual. I mostly just run across squirrels and chipmunks with suicide/homicide agendas. In our old neighborhood there was a day of squirrels making a beeline for my wheel...

A bicyclist I knew had to change their bikes because for some reason, suicidal squirrels would jump *into* his front wheel spokes with ensuing injuries and fatalities to the squirrels with luckily just scrapes on their own elbows.

@uxmark @cainmark @edd I’ve almost hit several squirrels 🐿️ . They’re abundant, stupid, and suicidal along one of my routes

@MarkBrigham im pretty sure that playing in traffic is a favorite game of teenage squirrels. the rabbits i think are just wired to evade the wrong way. ive had a rabbit run directly into my front wheel, but ive managed to avoid squirrels by chittering at them or lightly scraping the brakes.

@MarkBrigham @uxmark @edd

Ive had that happen, too. What was weird was how they targeted his wheel.
