A former tech-bro neighbor and recent masters-in-business graduate from an ivy-league school here in Greater Boston played the same faux-dumb shit with me over my COVID-cautiousness, use of they/them pronouns, etc. After a while I just started counter-trolling, i.e. he'd randomly say something positive about Elon Musk or whatever and I'd ask him if his car was the one with license plate xxx-yyy, to which he'd gulp and ask why I ask and I'd just cue a blank stare and say, "Oh nothing..."
