Our intro, and Q from @uxmark:

Q1. Where are you posting from today?

What are some encounters w/non-human animals you’ve had while cycling? One-offs? Regular interactions? Funny? Alarming? Awe-inspiring? Share photos if you have them 😀🚴‍♀️❤️

#BikeNiteQ #BikeTooter cc @bikenite

@ascentale @uxmark @bikenite A1. Toots from Atlanta like usual. I mostly just run across squirrels and chipmunks with suicide/homicide agendas. In our old neighborhood there was a day of squirrels making a beeline for my wheel...

A bicyclist I knew had to change their bikes because for some reason, suicidal squirrels would jump *into* his front wheel spokes with ensuing injuries and fatalities to the squirrels with luckily just scrapes on their own elbows.

@cainmark @edd @ascentale @uxmark @bikenite Now this is intriguing

@FeloniousPunk @edd @ascentale @uxmark @bikenite

Just that one bike they sold. Never happened again.

@cainmark @edd @ascentale @uxmark @bikenite That is wild! Was it the color of the spokes? The fork? The sound of the wheel? That would be a fun piece of detective work.

@FeloniousPunk @edd @ascentale @uxmark @bikenite

No idea, just looked like a regular bike. One person hypothesized it was making a sound we couldn't hear. But why would that make them jump into the wheel?

@cainmark @edd @ascentale @uxmark @bikenite Right! If it was a bad sound they’d run away… I mean, squirrels are timid by default. What else have you ever seen that ATTRACTED a squirrel remotely close to that. So weird!
