We should adopt permanent standard time. No, I don't want to argue with you about this. Enough is enough.

Hoping to see this in my lifetime.

Why daylight saving time is worse for your body than standard time

Daylight saving time gives us more light at the end of the day to enjoy spring and summer activities, but it can have a negative impact on our health.

@gedeonm We definitely should adopt a permanent standard time. I will not argue with you.
@gedeonm No argument from me. I’ve been shouting this into the void for years.
Changing the clocks twice a year is just silly.
@gedeonm Now why in the world does @ivory minibrowser throw up a paywall but Safari loads the page just fine?

I open the link then in an external browser, I hit a paywall there too.

I can look for the article inside Apple News and avoid the paywall.

Ivory mini-browser, which I don’t use, doesn’t have the same history cache or cookies your external browser might.

@gedeonm This is interesting. Most people who want to end time changes prefer permanent DST. I bet the disagreement about *which* time to make permanent is part of the reason it still hasn’t happened.
@gedeonm I want permanent DST. I want late sunsets in the summer. That’s the detail I care about. I don’t care if it is dark in the morning later. For me that’d be cool, because then I’d see more sunrises and sunsets!

@danedeasy @gedeonm

Go to bed early and wake up before sunrise and you can have as long before sunset as you like.

@Chancerubbage But I don’t want to go to bed early, mom. 😉
@Chancerubbage I’m in Chicago and love the 9:30 PM sunsets at the height of summer.

@danedeasy

I know , it is much stronger of a psychological need the further north you are.

@gedeonm My province, BC, is switching to permanent Daylight Saving Time (to be known simply as Pacific Time) as of this Sunday, when we move the clocks forward an hour for the last time. I understand the arguments of more daylight in the morning vs. evening, and while I prefer the way the provincial government is going, I'm just glad to be done with time switching. Fun fact: It is legal in BC for a city to set its own time zone (and some do, based on where they are located, as BC is a very big chunk of land).
@gedeonm I don’t care which we adopt as long we pick one and stop this time travel madness.
@gedeonm I agree. This DST stuff is nonsense and not natural. Mankind never has this before. It puts you out of sync with the rhythm of the earth and tine.
@gedeonm Here in (parts of ) BC, we are making the switch for the last time this coming weekend. Going to be interesting to see the effects this winter when it's still dark at 9am…😳
@gedeonm learn to fly and you’ll only care about UTC 😂
@gedeonm the thing about dst, it is only shifting the daylight— it will still be dark on one side or the other of the 9-5 rat race hours, plus it disrupts sleep cycles.
