Warning for coffee shop employees, if you ask me how my morning is going, you are, by definition, asking this before I've had coffee, so you might get An Answer
Another warning, if you bring a baby to the coffee shop, I am going to smile at it. A lot.
@ricci have you seen the sign regarding unattended children at Coffee Garden?
@regehr it's the same one every coffee shop ever has about espresso and a puppy, right?
@ricci yes but I still love it
@ricci
I'll soon bring mine
@nuwagaba2 you're going to have one soon‽
@ricci
Not yet maybe in the few years to come.
@ricci What happens if the baby appears in the coffee shop BEFORE a coffee shop employee has managed to ask you how your morning is going?
@the_wub this requires more research, please bring more babies to coffee shops
@ricci Or you could start buying your coffee at the cafe in the local maternity hospital?
@the_wub I really think everyone involved would prefer that I don't
@ricci I also do this and I'm not _quite_ old enough for it to be reliably socially acceptable.
@ricci ☝️ This guy smiles at babies
@ricci A baby in a coffee shop beats babies on long plane rides, that's for sure. We had dueling cryers in seats behind and two ahead of us on our recent 5 hour flight.... and those parents tried their best...
@rebeccawb @ricci as long as the parents are trying I have all the sympathy in the world. I've been the parent with an inconsolable child on a flight (in all fairness it was a noon flight to Orlando. there is a contractual guarantee there will be at least one crying child on that flight). noise cancelling headphones are a must for me when I travel alone
@kstatz12 @ricci I felt for the parents. Hopefully communicated that. And my noise cancelling headphones were packed in my checked bag (that was on me)! As a parent, I also empathize with people who are taking care of multiple kids, too... the baby just being one of several.
@rebeccawb @ricci I've totally bought way overpriced headphones from the airport "tech" store when I realize mine are missing
