The perfect movie review doesn’t….
@petrillic that's worthy of an award by itself!

@petrillic @kcarruthers Although I appreciate this for how topical/current it is, my personal favourite remains the review someone gave the abysmal sequel to the anime OAV series Bubblegum Crisis.

The sequel was called Bubblegum Crash.

The review in question: “And it DID.”

@petrillic @kcarruthers To be fair, if I must, had it been an original and not a sequel to a beloved series, Crash would probably have received a “meh” response and been mostly forgotten. It was only because it WAS a direct sequel to Crisis that it achieved such infamy in anime fandom…

@petrillic

"I only regret that I have but one boost to give!"

@petrillic There's one on Netflix too?

@petrillic Correct: it literally doesn’t exist.

- Variety has not reviewed the film, as far as I can tell

- The same quip has been a meme about poorly-received movies for years, at least as far back as the Ghostbusters reboot

@neilk @petrillic

They did this gag literally in one of the Charlie's Angels movies (the good ones).

It's still funny.

@jrdepriest @neilk @petrillic I first heard that joke in a 1980s Ducktales episode… and I doubt it was new then.
@FNTBat777 @jrdepriest @petrillic “Urmah told this tale and so distasteful and poorly spoken was it, I exited, heedless that the barge be upon the water” – some Sumerian probably
@neilk The oldest version I saw was Bill Hader, talking about Sam Raimi's "Crimewave.' It's still a solid bit.

@NicknamesOfGod Yeah. Jokes, for non-professionals, should be shared and copied and reused.

but then just…. do the bit.

Don’t wrap it in one dull meme form (the perfect X doesn’t exist…) and then screenshot another meme that tried to make it sound like there was an eppppicccc clapback in a major news site, that neither you nor your audience read

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk

@petrillic
in Spain lots of publicity for the propaganda movie. Of course this movie is set to get a lot of Grammy award nominations and win a Grammy
@petrillic It is a bribe from Bezos, therefore Amazno, not Netflix.
I wonder when the CAM version is going to hit the pirate streaming services?
@gregorSamsa @petrillic The ticket sales have been so poor that there might no banyone to cam it.
Only one ticket sold to the UKs premiere...

Melania documentary struggles in UK cinemas as Vue admits sales are ‘soft’

Only one ticket sold for premiere of film about US first lady at Vue’s flagship London branch as insiders question launch strategy

The Guardian
@dacig @gregorSamsa @petrillic IDK what are you talking about. Trump said tickets are selling FAST! and it's the best documentary that ever was, is and will be. Small print: In the category of documentaries made as a bribe by Bezos.
THANK FOR YOUR ATTENTION ON THIS MATTER!
my point exactly :)
@petrillic Nobody does it better than Variety. Their best line since "Hicks Nix Sticks Pix"
@petrillic why waste time on melanie when we have one battle after another
@petrillic I wish I could find the cite for this! Anyone got a link?
@petrillic it actually doesn’t exist. "Melania" is not from Netflix, and Variety never posted this.
@petrillic
I know that’s an old joke, but it still made me laugh!

@petrillic

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@petrillic @aigiko In the 1980s, I wrote the following record review for the music magazine “Sounds”: “This record is so bad that we haven't even listened to it yet.”
@petrillic
When Barfly came out in 1987 my college paper's review was "Is this supposed to be an adverb?"
😂 savage, I love it!
