I'm Kev. I'm over 60, retired ex military and I take photos. I'm a long time Linux user.

I got kicked off of Meta products because I refuse to upload a video selfie to prove I'm over 16 years old. 🤔

Tried Bluesky, but's it full of people trying to build their follower count. I prefer the Fediverse.

I swear occasionally, post Australian landscape photos and probably some garbage. (You have been warned)

It's nice to be here.

@kevpeirce welcome! hopefully you'll find it a happy place here, I know I do - even if it's quiet sometimes, it's infinitely preferable to... yeah, you already know 😂

I've started to take photos, not as a career or (necessarily?) a passion, but as "learning a new language to express myself" outside of the music that has been my primary language for most of my life, I HOPE I'm not chasing count, more just trying to share joy and beauty in a world that's lacking, but I'm already looking forward to seeing what beauty is to be found in your corner of the world ❤️

(I'm also a "better late than never" recent convert to Linux, the microsoft status quo *finally* became that unbearable)

I've been photographing since the 70s but not as a career. I did train in the 70s but did other things. Now I have time.

I gave up on Microsoft years ago and Apple. Admittedly Microsoft had a good phone OS until they dumped it.
