Interesting design quirk I noticed - Apple logo on the Macbook Neo is not shiny but just embossed.
@jsnell amazing what corners they can find to cut when they want to
@stroughtonsmith this is a great example of what cost cutting looks like to apple

@jsnell @stroughtonsmith
TBH I wouldn’t be altogether sad seeing that trickle up the line.

I quite like the embossing on the bottom of the Pros.

@stroughtonsmith @jsnell They didn't cut any corners on the introduction video. That was so well done.
@jsnell I guess shiny logos cost more. 🤔
@jsnell embossed or debossed?
@megagator you tell me, whichever one goes in

@jsnell Based on the slight color shift (in photos) it looks like they dyed the case, laser etched the logo, and then dyed the case again making the case slightly darker then the logo. It looks nice.

Update: A friend with the same background in anodizing as me suspects the etched logo also has a slight enough texture to make it look lighter, so etched then dyed once. I suspect he is correct.

@jsnell Thank you for reporting on this detail! I noticed the change right away in the photos but couldn’t find anyone else who confirmed it.
@jsnell I mean, all dude did to it during the video was rub his thumb over it.
