@jerrod @jsnell The A18 Pro has roughly double the single core performance of the M1.

SSD speed might be better but we have no way to know yet.

Beyond that, yeah, seems largely like the 2020 M1 Air?

@westacular @jerrod @jsnell yep. But all modern parts so they can update it as needed and keep it up. The m1 had not changed at all since it came out five years ago.

You get the new faster chips, and Apple gets lower costs for using non-obsolete components and designs.

@jerrod it's much more modern component wise. The A18 Pro is much faster at single core. For $599

@jsnell #Apple surprised us with this one. This is the #MacBook most people have been waiting for. Never expected that price range. Recently visited my sibling and they have an old 2017 MacBook Pro 13 inch 4 thunderbolt port model. They are due for an upgrade. They said don't want anything special, I plan to get two these, one for him and his wife. Heck, I will spend the extra $100 for the touch ID model.

@jsnell Yup. They got me. I haven’t had a computer (iPad, iPhone excluded) for about 12 years now. Not willing to pay the premium price when I have no need for it. But this is a game changer. Will replace my iPad. Just pre-ordered the Indigo.
