Fifteen years ago today, Amsterdam celebrated the milestone of its 100th public charging point. Today, it is celebrating its 10,000th!

From 100 to 10,000 in 15 years: that means that on average, approximately one #EV charging station (with two charging points) was built per day in #Amsterdam.
There are also other public #EV charging points, such as in car parks, at shops and other publicly accessible locations. This brings Amsterdam to over 16,000 charging points. This means that the city has more public charging points than countries such as Portugal or Poland.

And why did Amsterdam start with public charging points and encouraging the transition to electric mobility? To make the air cleaner. And it has already been quite successful:

@burger_jaap the amount of public charging points needed depends on how many people have private parking space vs use street side public parking.
