Sock update. Switched to circular needles, because it got to crowded on my DPNs. I now have 20 stitches per section and need to increase every other row to 30 stitches, so 20 more rows to go for the heel hexagon.

Sock update: sock one is closed on top and has a toe. I used a three needle bind off for the seam with a knit on the first needle and a purl on the second. This makes the bind off chain laying flat. Used a round toe similar to Jana's rather than the pointy one in the pattern. The fit is surprisingly good.

Sock update: sock two has a toe as well and I won yarn chicken so it looks almost the same. The advantage of giant taco heels is that the rest of the sock knits up quickly. Now waiting for a new video by Jana of Purl Together.

Sock update: the knitting is finished. The last few scraps added a good amount of chaos and spring vibes. Now many many ends to weave in. The fit is quite good. Towards the toe near perfect. I bit too much room on the back of the ankle. If I would use this construction again I would make the two sections of the hexagon on the leg part (I think that's sections 5 and 6 in the pattern) in a ribbed fabric.
