Finished my #HKsockKAL socks a few days ago, but it was too dark in Vancouver to take glamour shots of knitting until now!
Iβm VERY pleased with these socks, they fit my unusual feet well and are very comfortable. I did my usual blunt toe instead of the pointed one that pattern suggests (pointed toes fit me poorly). I did half of the calf increase repeats the pattern suggested, and I both like the length of these socks and had just enough yarn to finish.
The pattern has more ends and more grafting than a lot of sock patterns do, which doesnβt bother me but might be a consideration for other knitters. The pattern does suggest that you can close up the arch with three-needle bindoff instead of grafting, but this would not work for me, because the top of my foot rubs against my shoes and is also pretty sensitive.
I found the diagonal rib detailing on the ankle to be cute but annoying to execute for me with my counting issues. It probably does improve the fit slightly for me because my ankles are smaller than my heels, so next time I may do ribbing there but if so it will not be diagonal.
Iβve already cast on another sock with this pattern! This time, Iβm considering a hem for the sock cuff.
