For example the state secretary for economics and digital sovereignty at @stasdigi, the minister for internal affairs @MinisterBZK and more. The usual disclaimer for the "Yes, but"ters ;) Yes, the officials also have BlueSky and Twitter accounts. No, ActivityPub isn't yet seen as the main communication channel, it's up to all of us to change that through friendly and respectful interaction. So let's band together and overwhelm them with smiles and encouragement, while also having good, constructive discussions, even on difficult topics. So they see that this is the place to be :)

Jörn Nettingsmeier@jwildeboer I'm following so many politicians and municipalities whose work i have zero stakes in, just to be encouraging... on bad days i wonder if us good-will lurkers are creating a problem similar to the bots talking to bots on x - the actual reach and impact isn't as good as one would think.

Open Risktwitter is rapidly becoming a political liability (unless one is "aligned" with the owner, that is 😟)
bluesky offers familiarity, an easier onboarding ramp and the promise of "reach" (and this already attracted many more), but...
... but while still just a remote promise, it is the activitypub "worldview" that may lead to a real reboot of democracy. Any truly democratic politician should start dipping the toes into this new thing, helping it grow along 🙏

That the government founded their own server with only government accounts is a great way to make sure that we can trust the account names, and ensuring that the messages stay up and are accessible for everyone.
