Loot goblin gotta loot goblin, I'm hoping the Legendary duffel bags are still a thing, so that I can carry TWO duffel bags and one satchel, though :P
The very definition of QoL.
That's actually neat.
Oh that sh*t might just be the trait I need to pair with my addiction to Sunday Driver.
Hi, I'm lady, I always pick a trait that makes me drive slowly AND use it on Step Vans because driving a Chevalier Dart is too fast for me XD

Well that's random.

Next run as a toy collector ?

"Added quick tips, displayed when loading a game."

Oh, that's good. You know what would be even better, @theindiestone ? Player-submitted tips. Think about it.

Can you make it so that if I'm driving faster than the road is loading, the trailers stop hitting my vehicle, next ? Because hot damn, it is so annoying. And again, I live for the Sunday Driver trait, I am not going particularly fast.

The other day I lost a trailer like that. Road stopped loading, van did a full stop in front of a black square, trailer didn't do a full stop, went over the van, and just decided to live there now.

As I often do when I'm driving and have issues loading, I immediately paused the game, waited a bit, unpaused, and as usual by then the road had loaded. So I started driving, except the trailer was somehow hooked behind my van and ON my van (and at a weird angle, at that).
Eventually I had to unhook the trailer and leave it behind to make it home.
OOOOOOOOh, that is nice !
Ok so the new meta is : find an emergency vehicle in the first week so that you have the frequency before helicopter day. Got it.
Does the 911 dispatch center in Louisville have the emergency frequency by default, actually ? I'm not sure I ever checked.
Oooooooh jackpot !!!
That's going to be A LOT of free food in rural areas. You find a field of these, you are MADE.
Big if I'm understanding this properly.
I use MoveTo a lot and it feels like this will considerably change how liberal I am with my hotkey.
My characters never smoke, but now I might actually give it a try.
Well, damn. The end of an unstable era. What am I going to carry for weeks for no reason now ? XD
God I f*cking love that game.

I'm confused, wasn't that already the case ? Was a mod saving my butt this whole time and I didn't realize it ?

(can we use lighters and matches that are favorited, by the same logic ?)

IS THERE NO GOD ?!!!!
Wait wait wait, so if I cooked too much meat, and I freeze it, and then I want to reheat it... I can't ?
Yeah, definitely collector run for the next run.

...I'm trying to understand how that is different from this :

https://mastodon.social/@ladyteruki/115700852474739020

That's good because I've never seen anything but bandages and rags being included in the "Others" category anyway.
Party pooper.
Thank you.

...They did that ?!

Oh wait, I don't care. I've disabled looted buildings XD

Well that's a meaty one.
Now let's give it a few days (or a couple of weeks, if the previous update was any indication) before we see what mods do with all that.
Uh oh. I smell trouble. Rot and trouble.
The pathing might really make it much harder to get rid of a horde.
(the Wakeful trait was not mentioned in the patch notes and I'm willing to bet it's an accident because of MP... since you don't sleep in MP)
The sad part is that satire is nearly undistinguishable from reality at this point.
I mean, this guy used the sh*tpost emoji, so in this case it's fine, but if there's one thing I've noticed about this community, is that they love a game that is good despite the time it has taken to get there... instead of realizing that they love a game that is good BECAUSE OF the time it has taken to get there.

BTW in case you haven't clicked the official post I linked earlier, here's the MP trailer in all its glory.

It pisses me off to no end that some players have sh*tty expectations about PZ's features.

"I wish there was an end goal"
"Will there ever be a story mode ?"
"If only we could have families"

That's not the game ! You're missing the whole point !

1/ An end goal other than death would be a happy ending, and PZ isn't about that, it literally tells you that the only ending is to die.

2/ A story mode goes against everything PZ stands for. Quests ? Objectives ? You're in the wrong game, baby !

3/ I know we all like to joke about "The Sims with zombies", but come on. Everything about that game's lore is telling you that the world is ending. You're not going to be the survivor who repopulates the Earth. You're witnessing the end times.

How can people have hundreds, even thousands of hours in a game that they don't understand ?
How come people want Project Zomboid to be like other games instead of the game that it clearly wants to be (considering it has spent a dozen years reaffirming its identity) ?
(the NPCs will be bad enough)
If I see one more person "oh but in x you do that, it'd be cool in Project Zomboid too !" instead of playing x and leaving PZ alone, I can't promise I won't equip my crowbar.

Felt too cool not to mention : I have officially reached 1000 hours in PZ since I bought it on Steam.
Which means at least 1100 hours overall since I started this thread... last May.

I don't think I can call myself a newbie anymore.

Beside the cute puns and game references, this doesn't feel very meaty, but we're at the very least getting the confirmation that B42 is getting stable "soon". I'm starting to understand that this word does not always have the same meaning for players and for devs in this community, so let's wait and see. Personally I'm in hurry, I don't really mind starting a new save with every update, and I don't mind how long a version takes...

Hello Survivors! An introduction and update for Project Zomboid from Serellen

Project Zomboid

...but, I will say that lately I've tried to get familiarized with modding tools for PZ, you know, just to get a lay of the land, and I'm looking forward to updated TileZed/WorldZed for B42 because I have a couple of ideas for maps, and they kinda feel... doable ?
I don't know, I might be speaking too soon, I've only started creating buildings and looked at the first steps to create maps. Maybe some stuff later on is too complicated for code-illiterate me. But I'm intrigued.

#ProjectZomboid

I've always wanted to mod for ARK. I have documents going back almost 10 years now, schematics, lists, files upon files upon files. There may or may not be several advanced drawings of the map's biomes and POIs, you'll never know. The only thing that has ever been missing has been... a computer that can run the devkit.

My current computer, however, can absolutely handle TileZed and WorldZed, so um, yeah. Finally I can try my hand at designing environments for a game I like.

Oh actually I forgot that TIS is on Mastodon (although it is impossible to link a Mastodon account to an account on theindiestone.com, go figure).

So just in case I'll leave this here 😇

Right clicking made more flexible with pins

TIS devs seem to want to move a lot of things to right click submenus in B42, for instance it used to be possible to lock a door by right clicking it, and now you have to right click then find the option under the "door" submenu... which is fine if you're not pressed by time, but it's PZ, time is...

"I have a couple of ideas for maps"
Map expansions, specifically. I don't really want to create entire cities (...yet ?), but I want to expand places I like but that feel a bit lacking. Some places already have mods for that (though mostly in B41), like March Ridge for instance is pretty clearly a town few people visit without mods other than for its annotated map, but others don't.
I want to expand Echo Creek, for instance :)

Stuff like that is why that game made me its b*tch.

#ProjectZomboid

I'm currently in one of my best runs ever. Everything has been going suspiciously smoothly... and it keeps going that way. Like normally I'd pay for that within a few days, but no. It's going really, really well.
I have "saved" all the perishable food in West Point before it could rot (even in small bakeries and sh*t), which for the record is 3 days, so lemme tell you, I hit the ground running on this one because it's not easy.
I have secured my favorite warehouse in West Point Expansion.
I have found a great van in the first couple of days. Then I found the (modded) Universal Key that allows me to use any vehicle I want. I collected books from 2 bookstores, 1 library, and now the school.
I had a perfect helicopter event : I had snacks, a TV, an armchair, reading glasses, a "Fast Reader" magazine ; I locked myself up in a technical room away from the city center ( https://b42map.com/?11980x7167 ) and went through ALL my books at the time, so by the time the helicopter was gone I had tons of skills ready to level up. Not one Zed knew where I was so all I had to do was go back to base and resume my life.
A few days later I found the Universal Key for buildings, meaning that at this point in time THE ENTIRE WORLD IS ACCESSIBLE TO ME. Not one locked door in my way.
I traveled to all the places in West Point and Valley Station where I know freezers are, as well as some in the Dixie trailer park area. So now all the food I've secured is safe at my place.
I've found a trailer with chickens, so now I have chickens FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER.
I've found a trailer with a bull, so now I HAVE MY FIRST COW.

This is incredible. I've never had that much success in under a month.
And by the way this screenshot was taken a few ingame days ago ; I have now killed over 300 zombies (which I know because I have a mod that rewards me with a new positive trait or removes a negative trait every 100 kills and this has already happened 3 times). I am normally not there until the 2nd month.

Holy sh*t I'm on a roll.
I'm gonna miss that save when next week's update breaks it.

(the only thing I haven't got yet is the sledgehammer. I didn't take too much time to look into it yet, but West Point Expansion has a quite a lot more warehouses than vanilla West Point, so I like my odds, and worst case Muldraugh isn't far)
